Pendine Sands

I’ve ran a fair few miles over the years, taking those tentative steps, puffing and panting, red faced I would return home feeling as if I was going to die, in those days I was a reluctant runner, the act taken up only to exercise an overly excited Border Collie pup but as time passed I became fitter and stronger, able to cover larger distances culminating in my longest run of 40 miles over a 24hr period.

But here we are, some years later having ran solo across 14 of the UK’s national park, every month I set forth on an unknown journey a rough plan in hand and a sense of trepidation and excitement. Over 1000 miles were covered, gaining enough elevation to say I have scaled Everest 4 times over,  I explored some of the most remote parts of our parks and often saw nobody for days on end.

Even now I wouldn’t class myself as a runner, more of an avid plodder and lover of the outdoors, I look forth into new adventures, building list of places and experiences to take on. One thing is for sure, I am more comfortable in the uncomfortable.

In this space, you will find blogs and stories of my many adventures and also my musings on things and life.
